a group of people having a meeting in the office

Stakeholder management starts with open and clear communication between consultant (learning designer) and stakeholders.

  1. Set Expectations. In initial meetings, the designer needs to ask the right questions and work with stakeholders to establish the parameters of the project, timeline, deliverables, and standardize communication practices and expectations.
  2. Process. Stakeholders need to know their role and responsibilities in the process. Learning and training content is a living organism and is only effective if the organization and its people buy into the content, its purpose, and the results.
  3. Management. Working with stakeholders requires constant, clear communication between the parties. Projects fall apart when communication breaks down and stakeholders don’t share expectations with each other.
  4. Transformation. New training impacts the culture and community. Change and transformation leadership techniques are important to the process .
